Is there a way to adjust push after increasing Column Width of text?

Hi everyone!
I see what I did wrong and I am wondering if there was a setting I should have changed to compensate ......

Here's what happened:
I initially used the SLIM BLOCK esa font and increased the column width in the pull comp tab from zero mm to 1.5 mm.

While I was expecting the column height to be off on-screen (due to the push effect), I totally overlooked how much the overall affect of increasing the width of the columns would affect the text.

As soon as the A and E sewed out, I realized my error. Fortunately, I was able to salvage the design by manually moving the nodes of the columns and redoing that first "A".

My question:
Aside from manually editing the nodes, which I did to salvage the design (or using a wider font, which I did for the revised version), is there a way I could have changed the settings somewhere to account for the taller letters that were created when I increased the width of their columns? Does that make sense?
