Monogram problem was created by Tyson
Having problem trying to create a monogram with Point Monogram font. Using monogram feature, Selected style 21. When letters are typed, the pointed style immediately goes flat. I can select the object and manually adjust the center point to desired height. Is there a setting that I'm missing or ??? also, tried to create monogram directly from lettering and used style 9. Unable to set underlay for edge run and double zigzag. The only way I was able to make the underlay settings wanted, was to break apart the letters and then break apart each letter individually. Do quite a bit of monogramming and haven't had any problems until now. Hope I'm missing a setting or something else? Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Hi Tyson,

Welcome to our forum!

I'll address both issues you stated:

Letters are flat with Style 21 and Pointed Monogram font:

I can also reproduce this issue so we'll look into it. I can see it is changing shape but very subtlety to the point you can't really tell. We'll investigate.

Unable to set underlay

I wasn't able to reproduce this. Could you kindly provide the steps you did to reproduce the error and also upload an example .EMB with the issue?

Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Below are the steps:
Select Monogram, then Letters Tab under "Monogramming" Type letters.
Select letters and then select Style 21. Point Monogram font.
- letters flatten out at this step -
Select "Properties" under the Monogramming Tab
Select Underlay Tab - default underlay = First Underlay - zigzag. No second underlay.
Change Underlay setting to = First Underlay - Edge Run and Second Underlay to Double ZigZag.
- changes do not take -

I've attached a file (MTL.EMB) which I just created and has same problem as file I was working on earlier. Didn't attach original file because I've found a work around. Found that if I break apart the lettering, so that it becomes objects, I can change underlay settings. Original file is all broken apart and underlay changes are made. Also, fiddled and got the profile to look like "Style 21".

Also, tried to create the monogram directly from the lettering (not using the Monogram feature)
That was even messier than using the Monogram feature. Pretty much same steps as above. This method will not let me adjust pull comp or adjust col width. Attaching a file for this too (MTL1 letter).

Your help is greatly appreciated. Was almost ready to reload software and see if that helped.

OK thanks for the added info.

The reason you cannot edit the settings is because that font is set to use 'Original stitch values' and 'As Digitized'. To change this:

- Right-click > Properties for the lettering object.
- On the special tab, scroll down to 'Sequence...'. Select it
- Uncheck 'Original stitch values'.

You should now be able to adjust the pull comp and other settings.

Perfect! Worked like a charm. First thought was that I'd miss a setting somewhere. Always have Sequence set to closest join so never looked there. Must have changed when I downloaded the latest software update. Think I need to go read the manual now. Never hurts to try and understand the software a little better. Always a learning curve!

Thank You!!!!
