Hi, I have been discussing the above subject with Marnie, but as the weekend is coming up I am putting my request to this group hoping that someone is available to help me.

Could someone please walk me through the settings I should use to transfer my Wilcom E3 design to my Husqvarna Viking Epic embroidery machine using the extension .VP3

Cheers, Carolyn

From File (menu) | Export Machine File,
type in a filename,
below it, (save as type) select
Husqvarna/Viking/Pfaff (*.VP3)

Thank you Antony for your quick reply. Sorry. My E3 under the file menu, only has Export as…….. Selecting this only gives me the opportunity to save my file as an EMF or EPS.
As you have probably gathered I am quite new to machine embroidery and my mind is not as swift or as clear as it used to be. I can transfer some simpler files successfully to my EPIC but others leave parts out and/or change my selected colours. What I think I need is help in choosing the correct settings for my Wilcom program to work with Husqvarna Epic.

Hi Pebbles,

In e3 it's just File > Save As. Then from the File Type drop down, select the format.

Thanks everyone for your help.

However, I am not getting anywhere with my problem. Perhaps I should start from the beginning and ask for help one step at a time. So here goes.

I have Studio E3 program which shows Tajima on the white bar at the top. I stitchout on a Husqvarna Epic embroidery machine. I am sending I am sending my original ,emb file file one of the files I am having problems with.

I make the file in Wilcom Studio E3, save it as a DST file (as was recently suggested to me) I close the file - then open it up again the - screen popup reads “The file is not a native design file”. I disregard this and save this file as a VP3. This shows in different colours and parts missing. Hoping someone can sort me out soon. I will include the abovementioned files.

Oh. I see you won’t be able to read my VP3 file. Hopefully someone will have Husqvarna embroidery machine.

Hi Pebbles,

I've enabled VP3 to be uploaded to the forum now so could you kindly attach your file?

Thanks,

I can duplicate your issue where exported .vp3 has far less stitches (2382 stitches) compared to original .emb (3309 stitches)
I don't have solution for this, but a workaround is to export to .shv (3283 stitches) or .hus (3285 stitches) since Husqvarna Viking Epic machine can read a huge list of file formats:
(.VP3, .SHV, .DHV, .VIP, .HUS, .PEC, .PES, .PCS, .XXX, . SEW, .JEF, .EXP, .10* and .DST)

What I know about DST (I could be wrong) is that each time there's a colour change, Wilcom simply picks up next colour on the list, regardless if the colour was previously used. DST does not have colour information, not a major issue, but annoys me.
As for missing stitches, probably you will need to contact Wilcom support for bug report.

Thanks Brendon. I sent my VP Rose file earlier. But it doesn't look as if it has come through yet. Also, I do have the latest update (Sept. 2016) for my E3 program.
