I downloaded the following from here.
Japanese Font Pack
When creating a team name
When creating a team name
It is not possible to set sewing method and character thickness by application.
Is it because this is a free font?
Or is there a problem with my environment?

If you meant changing from Satin to Tatami. No (and yes), you can't do so with Japanese font. (and the yes part:) Unless you keep break-apart until they become geometric elements (no longer text).
To adjust the character thickness on Japanese font?
No. You can't.
English font can be slightly modified by pull compensation value. the value can't be changed in Japanese font. Again, unless you break-apart each character to geometric elements.
